Sanju Samson & Ruturaj Gaikwad Kept India steady in Chase
The Indian team didn’t get off to a steady start as they lost early wickets with Yashasvi Jaiswal (18) & Tilak Varma (1) getting dismissed early. But then came Sanju Samson & Ruturaj Gaikwad to their rescue who got India back into the chase by stitching a valuable 71-run stand off 49 balls. Gaikwad was the aggressor in the chase scoring 58 off 43 balls in an innings laced with six fours & a six. He got valuable support from Samson who scored 40 runs off 26 balls including five fours & one six.
2. Rinku Singh’s firing knock guided India to a Competitive Total
After the dismissal of set batters Samson & Gaikwad, Rinku Singh came forward to take the onus & guide India to a competitive total. He repeated his stunning IPL form on the International front as well by scoring 38 runs off 21 balls which featured three sixes & two fours at a stellar strike rate of 180.95. With this gleaming knock, Rinku helped India to post a mammoth 185 runs in the alotted 20 overs. He got good support from Shivam Dube who also returned with a crucial cameo of 22 runs in 16 balls in the death overs.
3. Ireland couldn’t get going due to the early loss of Wickets
In the chase of 186 runs, the Irish team lost early wickets with Captain Paul Stirling (0), Tucker (0), and Harry Tector (7) all dismissing cheaply leaving the onus of scoring on Andy Balbirnie. Andy Balbirnie didn’t lose hope as he played a brilliant knock of 72 runs off 51 balls with four sixes & five fours to keep Ireland alive in the chase. He got some valuable support from Campher (18), Dockrell (13) & Adair (23) who played brief cameos to keep Ireland’s ship sailing. But they convert their starts into big scores & were sent packing by India’s lethal bowling attack. The pace trio of Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, and skipper Jasprit Bumrah got two wickets apiece to help team India win the contest by 33 runs and the series 2-0 with a match to spare.

With this Victory, the Young Indian team clinched the series on Ireland’s soil. They will now aim for a series whitewash by winning the third T20I which is slated to be played on 23rd August in Dublin.
