There comes a major boost for the Indian Cricket team as Rishabh Pant has been declared fit by the BCCI to feature in IPL 2024. The wicket-keeper batter underwent an extensive 14-month rehabilitation program as directed by the NCA & after surpassing every hurdle Pant is finally declared fit to play in IPL 2024. Notably, Rishabh Pant sustained multiple injuries in a car accident in December 2022 & since then has been out of action.
While the BCCI release stated that Rishabh Pant was “declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming TATA IPL 2024,” it remains to be seen if he begins wicket-keeping for Delhi Capitals, who he is also expected to lead, taking over from David Warner, who stepped up in Pant’s absence last year. The IPL 2024 will mark Rishabh Pant’s return to competitive cricket for the first time since 2022. The last time he played cricket was during two match Test series against Bangladesh in 2022. After that series, he met a tragic car crash which ended with Rishabh Pant suffering serious injuries.
Prasidh Krishna will miss IPL 2024 due to an Injury

Meanwhile, the BCCI has confirmed that fast bowler Prasidh Krishna will not play in the IPL as he has undergone surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. This will be the second season of IPL which Krishan will miss. Earlier he missed the IPL 2023 due to a lumbar stress fracture. Krishna recovered from that major injury and even made his Test debut on the tour of South Africa late last year before being sidelined during the early stages of the Ranji Trophy.
But Prasidh Krishna has bolstered their fats bowling by trading in Avesh Khan from the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of this season with batter Devdutt Padikkal going the other way. Injuries continue to plague franchisees in IPL as Gujarat Titans will miss the services of their ace bowler Mohammed Shami.
The veteran pacer has been ruled out of the entire tournament after undergoing surgery on his right heel. He will be monitored by the BCCI medical team after the IPL 2024 & if termed fit then he will feature in T20 World Cup 2024 campaign straight after the IPL. BCCI’s secretary, Jay Shah confirmed that Shami will miss the IPL 2024 & T20 World Cup 2024 & will probably return for India’s home Test series against Bangladesh after the conclusion of World Cup 2024.
