The coaching staff and the remaining team members were also present at the ceremony.

Punjab Kings jersey for IPL 2024:
The playR-manufactured red jersey is a representation of the Shers of Punjab’s passion, spirit, and vigour, and it is made in compliance with international standards. PlayR is manufacturing the new jersey in India using fabric that was imported from Vietnam. With anti-sweat, anti-odour, anti-bacterial, and anti-pilling technologies, it is 30% more flexible and 20% lighter. The new jersey will not fade in colour because it is also resistant to UV rays.
Co-owner of the Punjab Kings Preity G Zinta stated, “We are thrilled to unveil our new uniform in front of our devoted supporters, who form the foundation of the group. The new hues capture Punjab’s spirit, feelings, and all that it stands for. The team will represent the fans on the field and create some unforgettable memories in the new stadium.”
The Kesari patterns at the bottom of the jersey are derived from fire, a symbol that has a strong hold on our customs and conjures up images of lucky stars. It draws attention to the Shers’ internal fire even more.
The Indian tricolour, worn on the shoulder blades, is a symbol of our country and its valiant armed forces. The side Nihal blue arrows represent upward movement and the weapons used by Punjabi warriors. The lower portion of the jersey features a honeycomb pattern that pays homage to the fans and the collaborative spirit embodied by honeybees, who collaborate to achieve a common objective.
The Punjab Kings captain, Shikhar Dhawan, stated, “The Sher Squad’s love and passion are contagious, and I can’t express how happy it makes me to be back here. We have an exciting team this season that will give it everything on the field as we look forward to donning the vibrant new jersey and playing at the new home ground in front of all of you.”
The new jersey will be offered on the Punjab Kings website and their upcoming Indian app. For fans worldwide, it will also be accessible in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the UAE.
Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab), one of the eight original franchises of the Indian Premier League, is owned by a group of well-known businessmen that include Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman, Preity G Zinta, and Karan Paul.
Punjab Kings, who are based in Chandigarh, are driven by the fighting mentality, positivity, and wholeheartedness that characterize Punjab. Because of the brand’s contagious personality and commitment to giving local and up-and-coming talent a worldwide platform, the fans have developed a strong bond with the group.
Decoding the Punjab King squad:
PBKS IPL 2024 SQUAD: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Matthew Short, Prabhsimran Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Sikandar Raza, Rishi Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, Atharva Taide, Arshdeep Singh, Nathan Ellis, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, Harpreet Bhatia, Vidwath Kaverappa, Shivam Singh, Harshal Patel, Chris Woakes, Ashutosh Sharma, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Shashank Singh, Tanay Thyagarajann, Prince Choudhary, Rilee Rossouw
The Punjab Kings had a healthy INR 29.1 crore in their coffers when they entered the IPL 2024 auction. Eight slots were available, two of which were overseas. Shahrukh Khan had been released by Punjab, earning them 9 crores.
It wouldn’t be incorrect, though, to claim that they weren’t able to purchase a suitable substitute for him at the auction. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to select Shahrukh at the end of the auction. To fill that position, they have chosen uncapped Indian players like Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma.
The embarrassing part was that PBKS accidentally bought the latter even though he didn’t want to. For the upcoming season, it appears that they will be placing their middle-order wagers on Atharva Taide. Punjab placed the highest-priced bid for Harshal Patel during the auction.
For INR 11.75 crore, the Indian all-rounder with pace bowling was selected. He can hit those big shots lower in the order and will take care of bowling at the death. Shikhar Dhawan, the captain of the Punjab Kings, would also be pleased to add a player with Chris Woakes’ ability to talk the ball during a powerplay. The chosen amount for the English seamen is INR 4.2 crore.
They have also added Rilee Rossouw to the squad to strengthen that middle order. Although PBKS paid INR 8 crore for him, he may not be a regular member of the Punjab Kings playing squad. For the time being, he is considered Liam Livingstone’s backup. Additionally, they have uncapped Indian players like Vishwanath Singh (INR 20 lakh) and Tanay Thyagrajan (INR 20 lakh) on their list of all-rounders, which extends further.
They now have additional options in the middle-order and all-rounder categories, respectively, thanks to the addition of Chris Woakes and Rilee Rossouw. The team does appear more potent right now, and Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan is expected to play every game this season.
Trevor Bayliss, the coach of the Punjab Kings, was also present at the auction despite missing Tuesday’s BBL match against Sydney Thunder. They named Bayliss as their new head coach after failing to qualify for the playoffs in the 2022 Indian Premier League. He will lead the organization for the second season in a row.
