In the ongoing trend of trading players ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, RCB made a big move of releasing Harshal Patel from the RCB squad. On this move of RCB, Harshal Patel kept his calm & said that he has nothing but gratitude for the franchise. Patel took his Official Instagram handle & said that the previous three years with RCB have been incredible for him.
He also thanked everyone for standing by his side in the difficult times. “I want to share some special memories I’ve had with @royalchallengersbangalore. Last three years have been an incredible journey for me. I want to thank everyone in the team who stood by me through thick and thin. As I move on, I have nothing but gratitude in my heart,” he wrote on Instagram.
In the IPL 2023, Patel has scalped 14 wickets on economy of 9.66. His best season in the league was in 2021 where he returned with 32 wickets in 15 matches & became the Purple cap Holder.
RCB has also released, Hasaranga & Hazlewood from the lineup
Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu hasaranga, Aussies star pacer Josh hazlewood & harshal patel are the prominent players who have been released by RCB ahead of IPL 2024. The other players who were released from the franchise are New Zealand cricketers Finn Allen, and Michael Bracewell, South African all-rounder Wayne Parnell, England’s David Willey and Indian players like, Sonu Yadav, Avinash Singh, Siddharth Kaul and Kedar Jadhav.
Coming to the retained players, Plessis, Virat, Maxwell, Will jacks, Patidar, Siraj are the players who are retained by the franchise.
IPL 2024 Auction: RCB welcomes Cameron Green to lineup
And there comes as a major move from the Bangalore based franchise! They made a masterstroke by including Cameron green to their lineup. Earlier on November 26 which was the last day for the franchisees to announce tehri retentions, RCB & other franchisees came to know that MI were releasing prolific all-rounder Green from their squad.
While announcing the inclusion of Pandya to MI lineup, the franchise also announced about the release of green. And RCB didn’t wait even a minute to discuss about acquiring green from MI & bolstering their batting order. After a short meeting RCB management deciding to buy the services of Cameron Green & bolster their top & middle order.
So now Hardik Pandya will again wear the blue jersey while green will see in the colors of ‘Gold & red’ playing for the Bangalore based franchise.
This time the trade of players ahead of IPL 2024 auction is quite interesting. This is because franchisees are making targeted moves of trading & releasing players. Can green help RCB to end their title drought this season? The question will be answered once the action will began on pitch.
