Inter Milan Clinch Serie A Title with Derby della Madonnina Victory over AC Milan
Inter Milan secured their 20th Serie A title in dramatic fashion on Saturday, defeating arch-rivals AC Milan 2-1 at the San Siro stadium. The victory gives Inter an unassailable 17-point lead over their city neighbors with five matches remaining in the season.
This historic win marks the first time a Serie A title has been secured in a derby match. Goals from defenders Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram secured the Scudetto for Simone Inzaghi’s Inter side.

The victory extends Inter’s dominance in the Derby della Madonnina to six consecutive wins and adds pressure on AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli. Milan has now gone winless in four matches and has little left to play for this season.
Inter took the lead in the 18th minute when Acerbi, unmarked on a corner kick, headed the ball past AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The Nerazzurri nearly doubled their lead before halftime, but Lautaro Martinez missed a close-range opportunity, and Thuram’s effort narrowly missed the target.
Both goalkeepers, Yann Sommer for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Maignan, made crucial saves throughout the entertaining match. Inter extended their lead early in the second half when Thuram controlled a long ball, cut inside from the left wing, and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
Despite creating chances, Milan’s finishing woes continued. However, they managed to pull one back through Fikayo Tomori with ten minutes remaining. The English defender headed home a rebound after Sommer parried another effort.
The closing minutes saw a tense atmosphere with red cards shown to Denzel Dumfries and Theo Hernandez following an altercation. Davide Calabria later joined them, receiving a red card as well. However, Inter held on to secure the Scudetto and spark jubilant celebrations amongst their fans.
