Jyothi Yarraji’s Early Life
Jyothi Yarraji was born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on August 28, 1999. Like many Indian sportsmen, Jyothi Yarraji was raised in a low-income household. Her mother Kumari is a part-time cleaner at a large hospital. Suryanarayana, her father, is a private security guard. Each month, they brought in less than Rs 18,000 in total.

After winning the gold medal in an inter-district competition in Andhra Pradesh in 2015, Jyothi Yarraji became well-known. She then changed locations and began training with Olympian and Dronacharya Awardee N Ramesh at the SAI Centre in Hyderabad.
2019 saw Jyothi Yarraji relocate to the Odisha athletics high-performance center in Bhubaneswar, where she later ran across British coach James Hillier.
She ran 13.03 seconds to win gold in the All India Inter-University Athletics Meet in Karnataka in January 2020, setting a new national record.
