BFI Unveils 23-Member Team for Asian Youth Games
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has recently revealed a 23-member squad for the upcoming 3rd Asian Youth Games in 2025, set to take place in Bahrain. The team was carefully selected based on their outstanding performances at the 6th U-17 Junior Boys and Girls National Boxing Championship 2025.
During the championship, gold medallists secured direct entry into the squad, while silver medallists were named as reserves in their respective categories. The selected athletes include standout performers from the Asian U-17 Championships held earlier in July 2025, where India won an impressive 43 medals and secured the second position overall.
Training Camp and Preparation
The selected 14-member squad, consisting of seven boys and seven girls, will undergo intensive training at NS NIS Patiala until October 20. The team is supported by six coaches, two physiotherapists, and one doctor, ensuring a strong support system for the athletes.
Key athletes such as Dhruv Kharb, Udham Singh Raghav, Khushi Chand, Ahaana Sharma, and Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari, who clinched gold medals, are currently honing their skills under the guidance of head coaches Vinod Kumar and Jitender Raj Singh.
President of BFI, Ajay Singh, expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, stating, “Our young boxers have proven their mettle at both national and continental levels.
