Rohit Sharma becomes the first Asian batsman to hit 500 sixes in T20 cricket
Despite Mumbai Indians’ loss on Sunday night, former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma set a new record for himself by becoming the first Asian batsman to hit 500 sixes in T20 cricket.
Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has so far hit 190 sixes in T20 cricket playing for the Indian team, while he has hit 272 sixes playing in the IPL. While Rohit Sharma has scored five centuries in T20 cricket for India, he has only scored two in the IPL.
So, even though Mumbai Indians lost on Sunday night, he probably won’t take it too personally. Rohit Sharma has also said in the past that he does not play for records or numbers, he only plays for the victory of the team.
He has also criticized the fact that in India, people are more attached to status and numbers, which do not reflect the true reality of a player.
On the other hand, if you look at players of Australia or England, their stats are not that good, their numbers are not that great, but there the contribution of players is valued. You expect a player to give you a win.
A 12 Years Wait Ended for Rohit Sharma Fans

Rohit Sharma scored a century after 12 years but was unable to celebrate openly as his team was losing the match. He hit a four through covers in the last over from Maheesh Pathirana but Mumbai had already lost the match.
He didn’t celebrate much after hitting the boundary, and it looked like he was disappointed with the team’s performance. But he also hit five sixes in the same match, setting the record for hitting 500 sixes.
However, there is good news for Indian team fans as Rohit Sharma is back in form and the T20 World Cup is also approaching. So, it is hoped that Rohit Sharma will continue this form and that we have also seen that Virat Kohli also scored a century a few days ago.
Although he could not win the match for the team, it is good news from the Indian team’s point of view that all the big players who have the responsibility of being senior players are in good form.
