Youth Career
- Lallianzuala Chhangte started his youth career with DSK Shivajians and played for their under-18 team’s debut season in the 2014-15 I-League U19 season.

Chhangte’s progression through multiple Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, from his early years with DSK Shivajians to his successful periods with Delhi Dynamos (now Odisha FC) and Chennaiyin FC, demonstrates his brilliance and adaptability.
With DSK Shivajians, Chhangte started his club career, but it wasn’t until the 2014–15 I-League U19 season that he started to gain notoriety. He scored an incredible 16 goals while playing for the DSK Shivajians squad of the Liverpool International Football Academy, becoming the league’s top scorer.
His outstanding performances enabled his team to get to the championship game, where they took seventh place. He received praise for this outstanding season, which attracted the interest of coaches and scouts.
After putting up exceptional performances, Chhangte kept honing his craft and was selected to play for the AIFF in the 2015 Asia U18 Champions Trophy. Although India U19 advanced to the semifinals, they were up against it from Japan’s Kashima Antlers and came up just short of winning the tournament.
Chhangte was selected by NorthEast United FC for the 2016 Indian Super League season as a result of his skills being recognized. Despite his limited tenure with the team, it was his professional debut. He made an impression as a replacement in a game versus Mumbai.
For the 2016–17 I–I-League season, Chhangte rejoined DSK Shivajians. He once more showed his talent by scoring the club’s first goal against Mumbai FC. He scored 11 goals in total for DSK Shivajians during his time there.
After being selected by Delhi Dynamos (now Odisha FC) for the 2017–18 Indian Super League season, Chhangte’s career underwent a big change. By scoring against FC Pune City on his club debut, he had an immediate impact. He kept on scoring throughout the season, finishing the campaign with three goals. He stayed with the team for the 2018–19 campaign, scoring additional goals to raise his total and rank among the top Indian goal scorers of the year.
International trials and experiences helped Chhangte further develop his career. He participated in tryouts with the Norwegian team Viking FK, which demonstrated his desire to play at a higher level. The maneuver didn’t happen, but it showed how determined he was to push himself.
Chhangte joined Chennaiyin FC in August 2019, where he kept making headlines in the ISL. He was essential to Chennaiyin FC’s success in the 2019–20 season, even though they came in second place overall. Chhangte became one of the league’s best Indian players thanks to his seven goals throughout the regular season.
Chhangte continued to be reliable during the 2020–21 ISL season, scoring important goals for Chennaiyin FC. His exploits proved how much he had improved as a player and cemented his standing as an explosive attacker in Indian football.
