IND vs AUS T20I Series: The much anticipated India vs Australia t20I series is all set to kick-start on November 23. After facing a big disappointment from the visitors India will try their best to beat Australia & level the scores from the previous clash. Coming to Six Time World Champions, Australia will try their best to continue their winning spree in the T20Is as well by winning these series.
In September 2021, the Aussies toured India for a match ODI series & India emerged victorious in two of them. The series acted as a preparatory ground for both the team with ODI World Cup 2023 in greater picture.
Ahead of the T20I series, Suryakumar has been appointed as India’s Captain for the five-match T20I series. On the other hand, Gaikwad has been named as the vice-captain for the series. Hosts picked a second-string team for the series with only three players of the ODI World Cup 2023 squad making a cut into the T2I squad. Prasidh Krishna, Suryakumar Yadav & Ishan Kishan are three players from India’s ODI World Cup squad who will feature in the T20I series as well. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer will join the team for the last two T20Is as the vice-captain.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya will continue to stay out of the series due to an ankle injury that he sustained during the ODI World Cup 2023 league stage fixture against Bangladesh. The selectors have kept Samson out of the T20I squad as well. India’s prolific wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal too missed the bus as selectors again kept the spinner out of the selected squad. It seems like the road for a comeback is too hard for Chahal who is not getting a chance to strengthen his feat in India’s Squad.
Coming to Australia, the veteran opener David Warner will not feature in the T20I series against India. The all-rounder Aaron Hardie will come in as Warner’s replacement in the five-match T20I series & will make his T20I debut as well.
The five-match T20I series will be played from November 23 to December 3 across India.
