IND vs AUS: TEAMS PREVIEW
India Preview
There comes a new skip for the much anticipated T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav is all set to lead India in the T20I series against Australia. Surya has been the most prolific player in the T20I format & is expected to do well in this series as well. He had a forgetful World Cup & it remains to be seen whether it affects his performance here or not.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been one of the standout performers for India in the shortest format & he will surely deliver in this fixture as well. He has impressed one & all with his exemplary batting skills in the shortest format of cricket & will aim to continue doing so. Yashasvi has scored 232 runs in 7 t20is at an average of 38.66 and a strike rate of 161.
Ishan will make a return to the Playing XI & will likely play the role of a wicket-keeper as well. Rinku Singh is another player to watch out for in the lower middle order.
India’s bowling attack will be led by Arshdeep Singh in the absence of Bumrah. Krishna will share the responsibility of pace with Arshdeep. They need to be on their toes with the ball as they couldn’t leak runs against experienced Australia’s batting order. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, however, is the one you should keep an eye out for. The prolific wrist spinner could scalp crucial wickets & can easily do that in this fixture as well.
India Predicted Playing XI:
Suryakumar Yadav (c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan (wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan
Australia Preview
Matthew Wade will lead Australia in the five-match T20I series in the absence of regular skipper Cummins. After the conclusion of the World Cup, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, and Mitchell Marsh went back to their motherland. But key players like Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Travis Head are part of the squad.
In the batting order, Head who received the Player of the Match award in the ODI World Cup final will again be the player to watch out for. The stunning batter was at his absolute best after scoring 137 runs off 120 balls. The stunning opener has been in breathtaking form since last month & will aim to deliver on these surfaces as well. Maxwell is another player to watch out for in the middle order. He will get good support from Tim David who has a strike rate of 163 in T20Is & has the ability to take the game away from the opposition in a few overs. David will target India’s inexperienced bowlers.
Their bowling looks will be led by their experienced player Adam Zampa. He knows the surfaces & pitch & will try to deliver his best performance. Left-arm quick Spencer Johnson has been given another shot to make an impact, along with leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha and the versatile all-rounder Matt Short.
Australia Predicted Playing XI:
Matthew Wade (c & wk), Steven Smith, Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Tim David, Spencer Johnson, Adam Zampa, Sean Abbott, Tanveer Sangha
PITCH AND WEATHER CONDITIONS
The pitch at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy stadium is on a slow side. It’s ideal for batters but spinners could get good assistance once the ball becomes soft & stroke making isn’t easy in the second part of the innings. The match will be interrupted by a couple of showers but you can expect a full fixture. The average score here is 97 from three T20Is. The team batting first looks all set to post a target of around 180
Toss: To Bowl
Two of three T20Is at this venue have been won by the chasing side & there are chances that the team winning the toss will opt to field first.
IND vs AUS Winning Prediction
India have won three of their last five T20Is against Australia. However, this Indian team looks less experienced in front of an experienced Australian team. Aussie’s batting unit is extremely strong & can get away with things easily. India’s bowling attack has a greater task to accomplish as they will face an experienced Australian attack. Overall Australia looks more competent & settled than the Indian line & we think they will emerge victorious in this clash.
