Boxing legend Mike Tyson is considered one of the most incredible fighters in history. He has recently revealed that there is one boxer he would hesitate to face today. The fighter is David Benavidez, who is also known as the “Mexican Monster.” Tyson made this revelation during an interview with ESNEWS.

Tyson praised Benavidez’s skills
“Iron Mike” has had an illustrious career that includes becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion at just the age of 20. During his peak, Tyson defended his title multiple times, achieving undisputed heavyweight champion status between 1987 and 1990. Despite his intimidating reputation, Mike admitted that Benavidez’s skill and dominance make him a formidable opponent.
The 27-year-old David Benavidez has been performing amazingly in the super middleweight division. His dominating and aggressive style have earned him a 29-0 record, with 24 wins coming by knockout. Tyson has been vocal about his admiration for Benavidez, calling him the Mexican monster for his ability to constantly pressure opponents.
“He is so underrated but so over polarized. I’d be afraid to fight him too if I was in that division. No one has a chance against him, and I’m talking facts,” said Tyson.
The Mexican Monster is seeking a big matchup
Benavidez’s reputation continues to grow as he seeks a matchup with current undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. Despite many calls from Benavidez and his team, Alvarez is yet to agree to fight. “The Mexican Monster’s recent performances have fuelled this potential bout even further. His latest win came over former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk in a light heavyweight fight. This bout has further cemented his status as one of the most dangerous fighters in the sport. Meanwhile, Tyson is preparing for his return to the ring, set to face Jake in a pro bout.
