It’s summer and life is basically in survival mode all day long, with temperatures reaching 45-46 degrees Celsius in North India and stepping out of the house almost a distant dream. But in the evening, one wants to indulge in some playful activities.
However, if you go to the stadium in the evening, it’s very crowded. You can play many small games indoors, but they don’t provide the same level of physical activity.
So, today we’ll tell you how you can install badminton in your home or garden and participate in a good sports activity at home and keep yourself fit, fresh, and cool even in this summer heat.
1) Look Around and Find Space for Badminton Court
Before you begin, you need to determine if you have enough space. If you have a small yard, a spacious garden, or even a small area on your rooftop, you can install a badminton court in any of these locations. This will allow you to dedicate half an hour in the evening to stay fit.
The first step is to check if you have enough space. To install this court, you will need a minimum of 15 feet by 35 feet of space. This is the minimum amount of space required for a regular game.
2) Don’t Just Rush, Clean the Space First
The second step is to clean the area if you have enough space. The area where you intend to play badminton or shuttlecock should be clean. So, if you have a yard or garden, you might want to trim the grass if it’s grown tall.
You should also thoroughly clean the area if there is any dirt or debris. If you’re setting up this system on your rooftop, simply sweep it a couple of times and then spray it with water to remove all dust and dirt. This will ensure a good start.
3) Time to Set-up the Badminton Court
Now let’s move on to setting up a badminton court. Everyone knows that a net is set up at half the distance. Since you want to play badminton in the evening or late at night due to the heat during the day, you can buy a small halogen bulb. This will be quite sufficient as playing without light is not possible. There’s no need to overthink this.
You can order a bulb on Amazon, a 12-meter wire, two bulbs (one for each side), and a small net with two poles. If you don’t have a net, it’s not essential for badminton. You can draw a white line in the center from both sides.
Make sure the center is equidistant from both ends. Draw a white line from one end to the other. You can install a net if you want, but two poles are essential. This will give your setup a structure.
You’ll know where to play and how much space you have. It’s even better in a garden as it’s easier to set up a net there. If the ground is made of soil, it’s quite easy to install the net yourself. Otherwise, you can draw borders by painting them white.
4) Enjoy the Game with Family and Friends in Evening Time
All you need is one more friend or a family member, two rackets, and a shuttlecock, and you’re ready to play badminton at 7:00 PM. You’ll get a good body workout because in badminton, you’ll be jumping, lunging, and diving around the court for 15-20 minutes at a time.
You’ll also need to use your core muscles and have some body control, which will help with your balance, stamina, and overall body activity.
This will help lower your cholesterol and make you feel refreshed, which is a great benefit of any workout. After your game, take a shower, watch TV, have dinner, study, or do whatever else you want.
Staying fit is important for everyone, and it often seems like the only way to do that is to join a gym and go there, where there are a lot of people, some of whom are introverts. Many people want to stay fit in a way that is more enjoyable and less intimidating than going to the gym.
If you live in India and are experiencing the summer heat, there is no better way to cool down than playing badminton in the evening.
