Frank Schmidt’s men have shown they can be competitive against top-flight opposition, but struggle for consistency in their recent matches. Overall, Augsburg’s defensive issues have been badly exposed over this period, conceding 2+ goals in every game. Going forward, their reliance on Demirovic for goals has been apparent with the Swiss striker netting 4 of their last 5. Improving their defensive solidarity is critical for Augsburg to pull away from another relegation scrap.
