In 1999, Goldberg’s kick at WCW Starrcade ended Bret Hart’s in-ring career due to a concussion. Since then, Hart hasn’t held back his thoughts about his former tag team partner. But recently, Goldberg has turned the tables on him. “The Heartthrob” has been critical of Goldberg’s in-ring abilities and his career over the past few years, a situation that is very personal to him due to his role in the shocking and unexpected end of Hart’s career.
Unfortunately some injuries end careers
In professional wrestling, injuries occur all the time and sometimes they can be career-ending. The Hitman isn’t the only wrestler to have his career end at the hands of someone else. But during a recent chat with ‘Busted Open Radio,’ Goldberg insisted that he warned Hart that the kick was coming.
“Do whatever you gotta do. It is what it is, Come on, man. I love you, Bret. Don’t be such a prick. That’s it. Grow up,” said Goldberg.
Goldberg still respects Bret Hart
Though there’s been a lot of bad blood between the two men over the years, it is clear that Goldberg respects Bret Hart, even though there’s still some tension. “The Myth” clearly stated that he is not going to fall victim anymore. He feels bad, but he will not let that bring negativity into his life. Goldberg even said that if it comes up and he sees Bret, his natural reaction would be to headbutt him. “But I’m a 57-year-old man. I can’t go around and do that anymore.”
Goldberg’s latest comments come after the “Who Killed WCW” documentary, where Hart was highly critical of him and the company. He didn’t hold back his thoughts, which Hart has been known to do over the past decade. He is still greatly respected by fans and those involved in the business, so his opinions are highly valued due to how talented he was and the wrestling mind he possesses. But Goldberg is ready to move on from this situation as he focuses on his career. He is still open to having one more match.

Goldberg admitted that the Bret Hart incident hurt him as a human being. He never wishes bad things on his opponent or anybody like that. To have an accident like that and end somebody’s career who was one of the best, it’s just bad. Goldberg just wants Bret to leave him alone.
