The broadcaster played a clip of the two nations’ 2010 meeting as India was batting against Pakistan in the Asia Cup game on Saturday. Gambhir scored 83 runs throughout the game, earning him the title of Player of the Match. Speaking on that match, Gambhir said that Harbhajan Singh was the match’s victor. Because Harbhajan Singh scored the winning run he became the hero of the match.
“Jitaya maine nehi, jitaya Harbhajan Singh ne tha. Although I did not win that game for India, Meri aur Dhoni ke beech sajidari zarur hui thi (I did not win that game for India. Harbhajan was there. Yes, I did team up with Dhoni, but in my opinion, the player who scores the winning run seals the team’s triumph) he stated during his or her analysis of Saturday’s Asia Cup match.

Gambhir recently voiced unhappiness over the lack of recognition given to Yuvraj Singh’s performances, in contrast to MS Dhoni’s game-winning six against Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final.
“Yuvraj deserves more credit for the 2011 World Cup than we have given him. Even Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina, and Zaheer Khan. The most runs were scored by Sachin Tendulkar, but should we bring that up? The MS Dhoni Six is a topic of constant media discussion. You’re obnoxiously fixated on people, and you’ve forgotten about the team,” stated Gambhir recently on RevSportz.
Given the position Gambhir has taken throughout the years, many fans were perplexed by his comments during the Indo-Pak match.
