Frosinone vs Sassuolo: Preview
Frosinone form analysis
I Canarini completed last season as the champions of the Italian second division and were promoted to Serie A this time around. Frosinone began this period by pushing Champions League-chasing Napoli close before succumbing to a tight 1-3 home loss in the Coppa Italia. Harroui’s early penalty gave them hope before Osimhen’s double won it for Napoli.
However, Frosinone produced an excellent performance in their next game by shocking Atalanta 2-1 at home in Serie B. Goals from Harroui and Monterisi saw them take down their illustrious visitors.
Most recently, Frosinone built on that result by securing a very creditable 0-0 away draw at Udinese in the Coppa Italia second round. It was another resilient, organized display against top flight opposition.
Overall, it’s been a positive start to the season for Frosinone as they target Serie A promotion. Competing so well with Italy’s elite clubs will give them great confidence in their capabilities this campaign. Turning draws into wins is now the focus.
Sassuolo form analysis
After a 13th place finish last season, Sassuolo began this spell with a disappointing 0-2 home loss to Atalanta as late goals from De Ketelaere and Zortea saw them beaten despite a spirited display.
Their form then dipped further as Sassuolo suffered a 0-2 home defeat to Serie A title contenders Napoli. They struggled to contain Napoli’s attacking quality throughout.
However, Sassuolo did respond positively in their last outing by comfortably beating Verona 3-1 at home. Pinamonti, Berardi and another Berardi penalty secured an important victory.
Overall, it’s been an inconsistent start to the season for Sassuolo as they adapt to life under new coach Dionisi. Finding greater productivity and creativity in attack is crucial, with just 2 goals in 3 games so far. But the win over Verona provides a platform to build confidence and momentum.
