Frosinone vs Empoli: Preview
Frosinone form analysis
Frosinone’s recent run of games has showcased an exciting attack full of flair but defensive issues leaving them exposed. They started with a solid 1-1 away draw at Fiorentina in the cup thanks to Soulé’s equalizer after going behind. However, problems surfaced at the back in a 0-2 away defeat to Roma, unable to cope with the host’s ruthless counters. Frosinone’s attack impressed again, beating Verona 2-1 at home with goals from Reinier and the brilliant Soulé.
But familiar defensive struggles persisted next game in a valiant 2-1 home loss to Bologna, going ahead but torn apart on the break after equalizing from the spot. Most recently they were involved in a seven goal thriller away at Cagliari, scoring 3 times through Soulé and Brescianini but still coming up short defensively. Overall, Frosinone has real flair in attack but their porous defense prevents them from capitalizing on promising spells. Tightening up at the back is key if they are to push for promotion this season.
Empoli form analysis
Empoli’s recent run of games has shown a stubborn defense capable of frustrating opponents but struggles converting promising spells into goals. They started with an excellent 1-0 home win over Salernitana thanks to Baldanzi’s strike, dominating throughout. However, problems in attack surfaced in a 0-3 home thrashing by Bologna, devoid of ideas against the visitor’s deep block.
Responding well, Empoli held Udinese to a 0-0 away draw next game, defending solidly and limiting chances in a gritty display. But their offensive struggles persisted in a disappointing 0-2 home loss to Fiorentina, caught out twice by clinical counters after plenty of sterile possession. Most recently, Empoli were swept aside 0-3 at home by Atalanta’s potent attack, simply unable to cope after a bright start. Overall, Empoli has been typically well organized but lacks flair and goals upfront. Adding more attacking threat is crucial if they are to push for a top half finish this season.
