Former Boxing Champion Orlando Salido has been kept in custody at a hospital following a tragic accident in Sonora, Mexico. In the early hours of Friday morning, Salido’s silver Dodge Ram pickup truck went off the road and crashed into a home, resulting in the death of a 61-year-old man and injuries to the man’s 53-year-old wife.
Salido is in a serious condition as well
The incident occurred at midnight, around 2:30 a.m., when Salido lost control and crashed his vehicle into the wall of a house, entering the bedroom of the sleeping couple. The man died while receiving medical treatment and his wife is still in a critical condition. Salido was also hospitalized, and is in a serious condition and is under police custody as the Police investigate the accident. Witnesses reported that two rooms of the house were damaged in the crash, which caused paramedics to respond immediately and transport the injured individuals to the Hospital of Ciudad Obregon.
The Sonora Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that Salido was alone in the vehicle during the time of accident. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are trying to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
Salido had a notable boxing career
Orlando Salido is a former Mexican professional boxer who is known for his aggressive fighting style and relentless pressure. Salido began his boxing career in 1996 and quickly made a name for himself with his action style. He often participated in thrilling fights and won multiple world titles in two weight classes, including the IBF and WBO featherweight titles. Salido was known for his toughness, as he never backed down from challenges.
