In a stunning change of events, Gambhir recently praised Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team and their standout batter. Babar, in the opinion of Gambhir, has the batting prowess to light up the 2017 ODI World Cup. In comparison to other elite batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and others, he claimed that Babar is of a higher calibre.
According to a statement made by Gambhir, Hindustan Times, “Babar Azam possesses every talent necessary to light up this World Cup. Very few players that had a lot of time to bat have I ever seen. In my opinion, Babar Azam is of a higher calibre than Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and David Warner.”
