Tuesday nightâs episode of NXT featured several surprises as former AEW star Ethan Page made his WWE debut by taking out NXT Champion Trick Williams. Ethan Page made the surprise attackÂ
The reveal came during the closing moments of NXT, when Lash Legend asked Trick Williams if he was behind the attacks. Williams denied any involvement, but the lights went out suddenly. When they came back on, Williams was being attacked. Initially, the people were unable to identify the attacker, but it soon became clear that it was Ethan Page.Â
Commentator Vic Joseph said, âThatâs Ethan Page, wasnât he on AEâŚâ before being cut off by Booker T. For people who didnât know Page, this helped identify him and emphasize his move to WWE from AEW. For fans who did know, Joseph mentioning AEW on live WWE TV was one of the biggest shocks of that NXT night. Ethanâs move from AEW to the Stamford-based promotion came as a surprise to many fans. This was the second big shock of the evening, the first being Jordynne Graceâs unexpected appearance at Battleground to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Womenâs Championship.Â
