Jaiswal scored 100 runs in his inning off 49 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. Finally, Rinku Singh’s cameo enabled India to surpass the 200-run threshold. Two fours and four sixes helped Rinku score 37 runs off 15 balls during his inning. Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami each secured one wicket, while Nepalese medium pacer Dipendra Singh secured two wickets.
As starter Kushal Bhurtel and wicketkeeper-batter Aasif Sheikh combined 29 runs for the first wicket, Nepal’s 200+ run chase got off to a rough start. Sheikh only managed to score 10 runs in his innings before being bowled out by Avesh Khan. But after he left, Nepal quickly lost four wickets for just 77 runs. Although it appeared that the run chase was off course, superstar all-arounder Dipendra Singh had other ideas.
Targeting Indian spinners, Dipendra and Sundeep Jora scored 45 runs for the fifth wicket. But spinner Ravi Bishnoi defeated him, allowing India to exhale in relief. In the end, Nepal scored just 179/9 in 20 overs, falling 23 runs short of the target. Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh each secured three wickets for India, and Arshdeep Singh secured two wickets. R. Sai Kishore also grabbed a wicket. India advances to the competition’s semifinals with this victory.
