Notably, Team India is playing in the T20I series while on tour in Ireland. However, in order to be fully ready for the forthcoming major events, such as the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, star batsman Kohli is presently taking a sabbatical.
In his 500th international cricket match, Kohli recently took part in the Test series against the West Indies and achieved a century. The great batsman currently has 25,582 runs in 501 appearances for international cricket, including 76 hundred and 131 fifty-plus scores total, for an average of 53.63.
In the two-match Test series against the West Indies in July, the 34-year-old maintained his strong play by scoring a century and a half-century. Over the course of two games, he scored 197 runs at an average of 98.50, helping India win the series 1-0. He was rested for the final two ODIs of the tour before his flight back to India since he was unable to bat in the first ODI.
Work front:
The last time we saw Kohli in action was during India’s recent trip to the West Indies. During the tour, he participated in the Test and ODI series but was sidelined for the T20I leg. In the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia in March 2023, he finally scored a Test century.
