Australia trounced South Africa in the third Twenty20 International, winning by a commanding five-wicket margin to take the series 3-0. Despite South Africa scoring 190 runs, Australia’s aggressive batting easily chased down the mark with 13 balls left.
During the game, a fascinating occurrence drew the attention of the audience. A batter’s shot was grabbed in the crowd by a fan, who amusingly signed the ball before returning it to the outfield.
Returning to the match, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first. However, they got off to a shaky start with the bat, as Temba Bavuma and Matthew Breetzke were bowled out by Marcus Stoinis’s deft swing bowling. South Africa was in trouble at 12 for two in the third over.
The epic moment of AUS vs RSA:
Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram then developed an important collaboration to keep the ship afloat. Markram, on the other hand, was removed with a team score of 70, and Hendricks soon followed, falling to Tanveer Sangha’s deft leg spin.
Donovan Ferreira played a stunning knock of 48 off 21 balls near the conclusion of the game, blasting five sixes and one four. His performance enabled South Africa to reach a competitive total of 190 runs, giving them hope of winning the series for the first time.
Australia took an early setback in the chase as Markram dismissed Matt Short on the first delivery of the first over. Mitchell Marsh was similarly ineffective in this game. However, a superb partnership between Travis Head and Josh Inglis meant that no more wickets were lost until the 12th over. Australia was comfortably placed at the time, with a score of 128 for 3.
In the end, Australia’s superb 91-run knock was enough to seal victory and complete a series sweep. Inglis and Stoinis both contributed significantly, with scores of 42 and 37*, respectively. Australia triumphed by five wickets, and Head was voted Player of the Match for his superb effort.
