F1 Great’s Lawyer Updates On Michael Schumacher’s Health

The family lawyer for Formula 1 star Michael Schumacher has maintained that his medical condition will remain private despite the overwhelming desire for disclosure.
Following a skiing accident in December 2013, Schumacher was put into a medically induced coma. He was transferred to his family’s Lake Geneva house a few months later, where his care would be continued.
After that, details regarding his condition have remained elusive. Only his close friends and family are aware of the specifics because his devoted wife, Corinna, has zealously guarded his seclusion.
Felix Damm, a family lawyer, has been a big assistance to her in making that happen. He explained why an official report was never released following the collision to the German legal news outlet LTO.
“It was always about protecting private things,” he stated. Naturally, we spoke a lot about how this could be accomplished. Therefore, we also discussed whether it would be appropriate to do this through a final report regarding Michael’s health.
However, that wouldn’t have been the last word, and ‘water level reports’ would have needed to be updated regularly. Since you are the ones who are impacted, it is not within your power to stop the media.
“One, two, three, or even years after the message, they could keep seeing such a report and ask, ‘And what does it look like now?’” Additionally, we would have to address the issue of voluntary self-disclosure if we wished to pursue legal action in response to this reporting,” he continued.

It will be ten years after Schumacher’s accident in December. It happened barely a year after he announced his second and final retirement from Formula One. During his three years with Mercedes, he helped the team establish its reputation on the grid and later enjoyed the incredible success it has subsequently enjoyed with another seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton.
There’s still a lot of curiosity about Schumacher’s health after the accident because of the admiration Formula One fans have for his accomplishments and the lack of information available. Damm acknowledged the reason for it, but he cautioned supporters that it is doubtful that the family will adopt a different tack.
When asked if he understood why there was so much attention, he answered, “Naturally.” He then went on to say, “But I also believe that the vast majority of fans can deal with it well and also respect the fact that the accident has set in motion a process in which private shelter is necessary and will now continue to be observed.”
