Everything that has been revealed about UFC 299 so far

UFC 299 is set to be held on March 9, 2024. It is one of the promotion’s few confirmed events for next year and will be the last pay-per-view before the epic UFC 300. UFC 299 is three months away and very few details have been revealed about the event yet. One thing that is confirmed is the fight between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera. This will be a Bantamweight title fight and Sean will look to defend his title. This will also be a rematch of their previous UFC 252 encounter. 

Sean will defend the title for the first time 

“Sugar” lost the previous fight against Vera but dismissed the result as just a fluke. Now he aims to prove this on March 9 next year. This would be his first defense of the Bantamweight title and would also test his skills and strength as a UFC champion. While other matchups are being considered for UFC 299, nothing else has been confirmed. There are also few rumors regarding potential bouts on the card. As for O’Malley’s battle with Vera, the two rivals recently took part in a promotional face-off. 

Sugar is confident about his win  

Despite losing his previous fight against Vera, the Bantamweight Champion is confident that he will be victorious over the Ecuadorian fighter. Recently, in an interview “Sugar” also stated that he doesn’t want to talk him down much because he is going to build the fight and smoke “Chito”. 

No news for the UFC 300 yet 

While the date for UFC 299 has been announced as March 9, 2024, there is almost no update about UFC 300, which will be the next event right after that. However, rumors exist regarding who may or may not be booked to fight at UFC 300. UFC Superstar Conor McGregor is also among those rumored for the matchup. His scheduled opponent, Michael Chandler, expressed confidence that they would face each other at UFC 300. If the prediction comes true, these two will definitely headline the blockbuster event.
