Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen, has consistently expressed his love and sympathy for India’s historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. His post shared on X read “Jai Shree Ram” in Hindi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “This is a time to commemorate not only our shared celebration but also the maturation of Indian society. The occasion is about humility as much as triumph. There are numerous examples throughout the world of nations that struggled mightily to right historical wrongs and injustices. But the way we tied the knots and worked out all the lingering issues gives us optimism that the future will be even more lovely and satisfying than the past.”

He continued, “Additionally, there was a saying that went, ‘Ram Mandir bana toh aag laag jaegi’—that is, building a Ram temple would start a firestorm. Such individuals were ignorant of the virtues of our community and the spirit that unites us all. Now, the regal residence of Shree Ram Lalla will serve as a testament to his patience, peace, harmony, and social cohesion. Instead of starting a fire, the building of this temple emanated a positive energy that has spread to all of us.”
Every Indian had a historic day on that one. 500 years of waiting have finally resulted in its inaugural ceremony. Pietersen was praised by online users for his admiration, sensitivity, and knowledge of Indian culture. In addition, they have expressed their ire at Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni for declining an invitation to attend the function.
Several current and former cricket players, including Ravindra Jadeja, Sachin Tendulkar, and Anil Kumble, were spotted at the function. Pieterson’s post was made prior to the England vs. India tour, which is set to get underway at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on January 25.
The last team to defeat India at home was England in 2012. Pietersen gave the English batters some very important knocks during that series. England will try to replicate their 2012 valour.
