Eintracht Frankfurt vs Stuttgart: Preview
Eintracht Frankfurt form analysis
Frankfurt made a perfect start with a controlled 2-0 home win over Heidenheim as new striker Larsson netted on debut. This continued dismantling Hoffenheim away from home 3-1, led by winger Knauff’s dynamism and Marmoush’s clinical finishing. Exciting but open style remained beating Dortmund in a thrilling 3-3 draw, twice leading through two more goals for in-form Marmoush.
Better balance followed in an accomplished 3-0 victory away at struggling Union Berlin, built on the brilliant Marmoush’s early double. However dropping deep and defending narrowly caused problems drawing 2-2 at home against Werder Bremen, despite Skhiri and young Croat Smolčić scoring. Overall, Eintracht have showcased lethal attacking threats like Marmoush while integrating new faces well. Developing midfield authority and managing games better can make them more proactive. If they can tighten up defensively, Eintracht could achieve special things this season.
Stuttgart form analysis
Stuttgart has had mixed form recently, with two wins, two losses and one draw in their last five matches. On October 7th, they secured an impressive 3-1 home victory over Wolfsburg, with striker Serhou Guirassy grabbing a hat-trick. Guirassy continued his goalscoring run by netting the opener in Stuttgart’s shock 3-0 away win at Union Berlin on October 21st, with Silas Katompa Mvumpa and substitute Luca Pfeiffer also getting on the scoresheet. However, Stuttgart then suffered back-to-back defeats – losing 2-3 at home to Hoffenheim on October 28th despite goals from Chris Fühirch and Pfeiffer, before going down 2-0 away at Heidenheim on November 5th.
Most recently, Stuttgart returned to winning ways with a dramatic 2-1 home victory over Borussia Dortmund on November 11th, with Guirassy and Pfeiffer overturning Nunes’ opener. Defensively Stuttgart have looked vulnerable, conceding at least twice in three of their last five games. But in attack they carry plenty of threat, especially with in-form striker Guirassy leading the line. If they can tighten up at the back, Stuttgart have shown they have the attacking weapons to trouble any opponent.
