After a huge backlash by WWE fans, The American Nightmare got his match back and Dwayne Johnson turned heel, which led to The Rock & Reigns facing Rhodes and Seth Rollins, which ended in the Final Boss pinning Cody. Although it was a great run for him in WWE, his acting schedule has taken him away again. Recently, his first image from A24’s The Smashing Machine was released.
Dwayne is playing role of an iconic MMA fighter
In the film, Dwayne is portraying MMA fighter Mark Kerr. The image showed his look so different that he was almost unrecognizable. The film is directed by Benny Safdie. He has previously directed films like Good Time and Uncut Gems with his brother Josh, but “The Smashing Machine” is his first solo. Dwayne is in the lead role of iconic MMA fighter Mark Kerr. Emily Blunt will be playing Kerr’s wife, Dawn Staples. While the filming is still going on, A24 has given the fans their first look of Dwayne Johnson as Kerr.
The Rock is almost unrecognizable in the picture
The Rock already had a physique like Mark Kerr, but he still needed a little transformation by wearing a wig and using makeup to hide his tattoos. The amazing thing about the first look of the film is that no one can tell it is Dwayne if they aren’t told about it. It shows how much Johnson has dedicated himself to this film project, a biopic that will break him out of disappointing films like Black Adam.
He will not return to WWE anytime soon
The shooting will continue for several months, so WWE fans shouldn’t expect the Final Boss to return to the company anytime soon. But when he does, Cody Rhodes will be his first victim, with whom he had hinted at a match on Raw following WrestleMania 40, when The American Nightmare became the new Undisputed WWE Champion after defeating Roman Reigns. Also, The Rock has an even bigger clash in his mind, probably his dream match, which is The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, which can only happen on a grand stage like WrestleMania.
