Money in the Bank 2024 saw CM Punk yet again stop Drew McIntyre from becoming the world champion. McIntyre won the Money in the Bank on Saturday and thought this time he might be successful in accomplishing his goal. “The Scottish Warrior” cashed in his MITB on the same night, probably thinking Punk would still be injured and sitting home. However, “The Chicago Saint” was waiting to interrupt McIntyre once again.
McIntyre hit Pearce in the head
After the PLE, Drew lost control and he crashed the MITB post-show. He yelled on the camera at Punk while those on the panel tried to calm him down. Eventually, Raw GM Adam Pearce tried to pull McIntyre away, at which point the Scot hit Pearce in the head with his elbow. Then Wade Barrett intervened and dragged McIntyre away to prevent the situation from getting any worse, but the damage was already done.
The Raw GM fined both Punk and McIntyre
A day after MITB, WWE shared an update from Pearce, during which he confirmed a few matches for Raw on Monday. However, later in the video, the Raw GM also revealed how he is planning to deal with Punk and McIntyre. Pearce confirmed that both Superstars have been fined for what they did on Saturday. However, McIntyre has been given more punishment for what he did to Pearce and has been suspended.
Punk is free to return to TV whenever he wants. Whether or not he’s cleared to wrestle is uncertain, though if he is, there is a very big possibility that Seth Rollins will keep him busy while McIntyre is away. Punk’s involvement in the match has reignited his rivalry with Rollins as well.
McIntyre’s suspension is now doubled
Interestingly, Drew McIntyre reacted to being fined and suspended by saying that if Adam Pearce was doing his job properly, he wouldn’t have gotten hit in the head. He called Pearce an “incompetent bald b**ch.” The Raw GM reacted to that response by informing McIntyre that his fine has now been doubled.
