Drew McIntyre is currently one of the most liked WWE superstars and his career as a heel is going interesting. His story with CM Punk has led to some great promo work and has inspired him to get CM Punk to fight back. At WrestleMania 40 this year, “The Scottish Warrior” defeated Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship, but was attacked by the “Cookie Master,” which eventually led to Drew’s time as champion ending in just a few minutes. Now McIntyre is preparing to face Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle in his home country, Scotland. He recently warned Punk that fans will get furious if he dares to show up during the event.
McIntyre’s warning to CM Punk
In an interview, Drew McIntyre talked about his title match with Priest on June 15 at “Clash at the Castle.” He also issued a warning to CM Punk if he thinks about making an interference in the match. Drew stated that it would be a huge mistake for Punk after what happened last time and he doesn’t want that to happen in the UK as this time the event is in Glasgow, Scotland.
“I would strongly suggest not getting involved or doing anything to rock the boat during the show because there is a high probability you’ll get jumped. Security guards won’t stop them because they’re Scottish too,” said McIntyre.
Fans could see a potential clash between Punk and McIntyre in August
There is a great chance that Drew McIntyre will defeat Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle to win the World Heavyweight Championship. McIntyre losing his title just a few minutes after winning at WrestleMania was a way to escalate his feud with CM Punk, who is not ready to compete yet due to a torn tricep. The WWE Universe could get to see an even bigger moment at SummerSlam if Punk is cleared to compete until then. Fans will get CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre for the World title at the SummerSlam in August.
