Drew McIntyre has finally re-signed with the WWE. The news was confirmed by The Rock via Instagram on Saturday, ending the speculation surrounding “The Scottish Warrior” for the past few months. The Rock shared a video on Instagram showing a sword being delivered to McIntyre at the restaurant while he was dining with Nick Khan. The Hollywood Star wrote a kind message in the caption and congratulated Drew on the new deal.
The Rock posted the video on IG
The caption read as, “Man of my word, As you are a man of yours – Congratulations @dmcintyrewwe on signing your new WWE deal.” The Rock further revealed in the caption that they talked after McIntyre’s match and he knows that Scottish Claymore represents his family and country. The Rock wanted to give this gift in person at the meeting with Nick Kahn, but he had hot food and cold tequila waiting for him.
McIntyre was willing to let his contract expire
The company has been pushing McIntyre to the top during recent shows and at WrestleMania 40, he was also a part of a big match where he won the World Title. However it was only for a few minutes as Damian Priest cashed in his money in the bank. McIntyre has been modest throughout his contract status, but there were reports that he was in talks for several months. There were mixed reports about whether he had signed a contract or not. It was also reported that McIntyre was willing to let his contract expire so he could spend his time with family in Scotland. He believed that he would be back on his feet if he eventually left WWE.

WWE fans will be happy to hear that McIntyre isn’t going anywhere now. He is the second superstar to sign an extension this week, before him, it was Finn Balor. It would have been upsetting to see McInytre leave the company, especially if he was willing to explore his options and move to a promotion like AEW. The Rock making the announcement of the signing himself means that WWE highly regards McIntyre and does not want him to go anywhere. There are also assumptions that they paid well to keep McIntyre.
