All that you need to about the star bowler Dunith Wellalage
20-year-old, star spinner of Sri Lanka Dunith Wellalage is grabbing the limelight because of their lethal spin attack & ability to scalp back-to-back wickets. He has finished with a spell of 5-40 in 10 overs against India by sclaping wickets of Virat, Shubman, Rohit, Rahul & Hardik. He even contributed with the willow by scoring 42 runs off 46 balls to keep Sri Lanka alive in the chase of 214 runs. But couldn’t complete the task as Sri Lanka was bowled for 172 runs in 41.3 overs. However. Wellalage stayed unbeaten & fought the battle till the end.
The youngster was termed the ‘Man of the Match’ for his outstanding knock and brilliant spell plus the catch. Despite being just 20 years old, the temperament & maturity which the youngster has shown were commendable. He rattled the Indian team’s batting order & capitalized his bowling show with a stunning show with the bat. He was brilliant in every form & one of the best performers for Sri lanka. And heading into this fixture against Pakistan he again stood up & did the job for his team by sclaping the prized wicket of Babar Azam.
Currently, Sri Lanka & Pakistan are locking horns in a rain-marred fixture, where Pakistan posted an average of 252 runs total on board in 42 overs as the fixture was reduced due to rain. Sri Lanka is currently chasing the target & needs 112 runs in 42 overs to book a spot in the Finals. Whether Pakistan bowlers hold their nerves to outclass Sri Lanka out of the tournament or the Lankan team will continue the fightback & reserve their spot in Asia Cup 2023 Finals? All questions will be answered as the fixture progresses ahead.
