The final press conference held for the highly anticipated boxing clash between UFC veterans Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal transformed into chaos on Thursday as a scuffle broke out after a heated exchange between the two men. The conference was intended to promote their 10-round boxing match scheduled for July 6 in Anaheim. However, it took a dramatic turn when Diaz, who is known for his disinterest in press events, became aggressive.
Diaz expressed his disinterest in press events
The two fighters got into a heated exchange at times, talking about their MMA careers and previous fights. “The Stockton Slugger” expressed his frustration with the entire press conference and directed his anger at both Masvidal and the event’s host, Brian Campbell. Nick clearly stated how sick he is of sitting here, looking at all these faces and this whole sh*t.
When Diaz attempted to leave the press conference, producers urged him to participate in the final face-off with “Gamebred”. But Diaz refused and grabbed a microphone to tease his opponent before leaving. The situation worsened when a brawl broke out in front of Masvidal that involved members of both fighters’ camp. Security had to intervene in order to stop them.
The incident raised the excitement for upcoming fight
The incident has added excitement to the upcoming bout, which will take place on July 6 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Following the brawl at the press event, Nate spoke to Fight Hub TV and claimed he had not seen the altercation but heard that Masvidal’s coach was involved. Diaz also expressed his dislike for verbal clashes and said, “I am a real fighter. I’m not going to sit here and argue and talk sh*t with people unless they are going to do something, unless we are going to fight for real.”

In a turn of events, Diaz then spotted Masvidal’s team in the hallway, sparking another melee as the two camps headed towards each other. Diaz and Chris Avila, who is scheduled to fight on the same card, hurled insults at Masvidal’s team before security intervened.
