WWE’s 2K24 was released in March and since its DLC packs have been released more frequently this year, only one of them has been released so far. Despite being less than three months old and work on future DLC continuing, 2K has already confirmed that work on WWE 2K25 is underway. The next installment in the series is coming out as 2K25 and is aiming to release before the end of the next year.
Development of 2K25 has already begun
According to a report, 2K’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has shared a release slate for the projects currently under development at their studio, and WWE 2K25 is included in that. While no specific release date has been given, the next WWE game is listed here as coming before the end of 2025. That means anytime between now and 2025, so presumably WWE 2K24 and the two games before it will release around the same time of year.
It was pretty predictable, as fans already know that when a series releases a new game every year, work on the next game begins as soon as the previous title comes out. It was also already believed that 2K25 would likely be here in March 2025. However, perhaps the most interesting thing to know is what platforms WWE 2K25 will be available on. Take-Two has currently put “To be announced” on the table, but there is a possibility they will release the game on the Nintendo console.
On which platform will the game be released?
Apart from WWE 2K Battlegrounds, 2K has only released one WWE game on the Switch, which is 2K18. Unlike other platforms, putting a game on the Nintendo Switch isn’t as simple as porting over the same version. It requires a completely different build, which is why it has been left off WWE 2K’s platform list for the past few years. Nintendo has confirmed that they will reveal about the next console before the end of 2025.

If 2K brings its WWE games back to Ninetendo’s platforms, it could be a huge deal for the studio. Not only will Nintendo sell a lot of its new consoles right away, but it will also be a huge deal for the series and result in a lot of people buying the game and console together.
