When the merger between WWE and UFC under the TKO banner took place in 2023, it generated a lot of buzz in the combat sports world, especially regarding potential crossover opportunities between fighters from both organizations. With Vince McMahon officially out of the company, UFC CEO Dana White has recently revealed that he is open to these collaborations, marking a departure from his previous stance.

During the post-fight conference after the UFC’s event on Saturday, White talked about the possibility of UFC fighters being allowed to appear on WWE programming. Recently, there was speculation of tension between White and the former CEO of WWE, Vince McMahon. Dana stated that now Vince isn’t her to f*** him. Vince is no longer involved in TKO after selling his shares, and White seems more willing to entertain the idea of UFC fighters appearing on WWE programming.
“Some of the fighters who fight her have always dreamed about doing a WWE match. I don’t have a problem, previously, Vince was consistently f****** me for no reason. Now that’s not the case anymore, so we would absolutely do it,” said White. The recent revelation that UFC superstar Derrick Lewis is in talks with WWE has further fueled the speculation. Dana White’s positive comments about Lewis and his willingness to support such efforts indicate a change in attitudes towards these cross-promotional opportunities.
Randy Orton was spotted at a UFC event
It was only a matter of time before the two organizations established some crossover following the merger. Earlier this year on the Road to WrestleMania 40, UFC lightweight fighter Michael Chandler appeared on RAW and cut a promo calling out Conor McGregor. In addition, WWE Superstar Randy Orton was also present at the UFC ESPN 56 event, which created a huge excitement among fans. Overall, the merging dynamics within TKO, coupled with the expressed interest from competitors and fans, indicate that we will get to see more significant crossover events in the future of combat sports.
