Cristiano Ronaldo, who flew in from Saudi Arabia in the middle of the night to make it to Madeira to celebrate his mother’s birthday and New Year’s, paid Dolores Aveiro a visit on the day she celebrated turning 69. The Portuguese celebrity shocked his mother by surprising her with an opulent Porsche. CR7’s sister posted a video of the surprise on social media.
To make it to Madeira for her birthday celebration on December 31, Ronaldo took an early-night flight to see his mother in Saudi Arabia. His sister, Katia Aveiro, then posted pictures of the moment he gave Maria Dolores the new car on social media, leaving everyone in disbelief.
In a message to her Instagram followers, Katia also thanked Ronaldo for his generosity, writing: “If she is happy, it is because her son remembers her and not because of the value of the gift. Your days on this planet will be lengthy if you treat your parents with respect.”
With his Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr not scheduled to play again until early February, when they take on Al Feiha in the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo can now take a brief vacation from football with his family. The 38-year-old center forward scored in Al-Nassr’s last Saudi Pro League match against Al-Taawoun to end 2023 with 54 goals for both club and nation.
He was such a good youngster that on New Year’s Eve, he treated his mother to a brand-new Porsche in honor of her birthday. Dolores Aveiro shared a photo of her new car on her Instagram page, revealing to her fans that her son had given her the vehicle.

The Real Madrid player was unable to spend his mother’s special day with him since, as was previously revealed earlier in the week, he will be attending an all-star party in North Africa on New Year’s Eve.

Al-Nassr defeated Al-Taawoun 4-1, and Ronaldo’s goal, his 54th of 2023, helped his team close the gap with league leaders Al-Hilal to seven points. With his goal, Ronaldo moved two goals clear of England’s Harry Kane, France’s Kylian Mbappe, and Bayern Munich (both with 52).
In his post-match remarks, the legendary Portuguese player then set himself the target of leading the list again the following year. In an interview with Saudi media outlet SSC Sports, Ronaldo highlighted his joy at attaining the milestone and being able to support his team and country.
Goal.com quoted Ronaldo as saying, “I’m ecstatic; this was a fantastic year for me both personally and professionally. With my high goal total, I was a valuable member of both the national squad and the Al-Nassr team. I’m happy and I feel well, and I’ll aim to do it again next year.”
