6) Shahid Afridi
Pakistan’s prolific all-rounder Shahid Afridi is not only known for his powerpack shots on the field but for his comebacks after retirement. This is because Shahid announced his retirement from Cricket several times & then made a U-turn from his decision again & again. The first time he called time on his career was in 2006 when he bid adieu to Test cricket. But just after two weeks he made a U-turn from his decision & played just one more Test against Australia at Lord’s in 2010. men in Green lost the Test under Sfridi’s leadership which compelled him to finally retire from Test format.
After saying goodbye to Test Afridi went on to retire from ODIs in 2011 after the World Cup following his removal from captaincy. But again the all-rounder changed his mind and made a comeback after five months. His retirement saga didn’t end here as he retired from all forms of cricket in 2017 & then returned to play in 2018 for the Rest of the World at Lord’s. His never-ending retirements & comebacks allot him a top spot in the list of Cricketers who came out of retirement.
