At the Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket arena in the world, India and Pakistan are poised to compete in the highly anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup. With two straight victories, both teams got off to a fast start. However, while both teams want to rule Ahmedabad, winning the highly anticipated IND-PAK encounter will be something exceptional. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh reveals how he inspired the dengue hit Shubham Gill to play.
Although Rohit Sharma’s side appears to be strong, they will need star opener Shubman Gill for the high-stakes match. The 24-year-old, who has been on fire this season, was unable to play in the first two games due to dengue sickness. In a promising development, Gill resumed training in the nets on Thursday after being out for more than a week.
Yuvraj Singh, a former Indian cricketer who is unsure whether he will play against Pakistan, explained how he inspired the right-handed batsman while playing for India. The renowned all-rounder said he requested Gill to join the team right away since the match against Pakistan was crucial in an exclusive interview with News 18. He also used the illustration of a cancer patient competing in the World Cup.
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh gets candid:
Yuvraj Singh said, "I've solidly built Shubman Gill. I've told him that I've played matches dengue and the World Cup with cancer. Hopefully he'll be perfectly fine for the match against Pakistan". (ANI). pic.twitter.com/Q5KqGW9Mdv

Shubham Gill’s strength has been increased. He added, “Shubham Gill ko maine tagda kar diya hai. I swiftly prepared myself to join the team after informing him that I had participated in the World Cup while battling cancer. He should be prepared for the India vs. Pakistan game.”
He continued, “In any case, he would have played if he felt better. However, recovering from a viral or dengue infection is quite challenging. It drains your body of everything. I know he’s incredibly excited to play that game.”
Given that the two teams do not compete in a bilateral series, an India-Pakistan match is usually a crowd-pleaser. Yuvraj is anticipating the game on Saturday just like countless other fans. He also praised Team India for handling the strain to defeat Australia by six wickets.
“At the moment, it’s the ‘talk of the town. Matches between India and Pakistan are usually memorable. Every time I speak to the boys, I encourage them to anticipate it because it will be a significant event. You never know if these days may return.” Yuvraj added.
