Cricketer Sarfaraz Khan:
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Sarfaraz said, “I would ask my father if there were people rooting for us and when I would get the chance to play for India. He would tell me just one thing, and he would recite it.”
Sarfaraz recited this inspirational poem, “Kar girte toh kar gir ke sambhalte rehte, Baithe rehne se acha tha ki chalte rehte, Aur chalke hum gair ke kadmo se kahin ke na rahe, Khud ke pairo se chalte toh chalte rehte.”
In addition, Sarfaraz Khan shared some advice from his father, saying that he ought to approach domestic matches as though he were representing the Indian team.
He said, “If I play for India, I have to score runs. Additionally, I have to play for India in my next domestic match and score runs there as well. Thus, wherever I play, my only goal is to score runs.”
It is noteworthy that Sarfaraz Khan received his first Test cap from former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble in a touching ceremony that saw the star player make his eagerly anticipated debut. Sarfaraz Khan’s father and wife were clearly moved by the occasion.
