In the 2019 Asia Cup, archrivals India and Pakistan will square off before the two cricketing superpowers renew their rivalry at the 2023 World Cup. Cricketer Rohit Sharma:
The superstar Shaheen Shah Afridi and the quick Haris Rauf were the two players that many had expected Rohit to choose, but the Indian skipper answered cheekily in the lead-up to the eagerly awaited Indo-Pak encounter. He said, “The Pakistani team is doing well. The name Mai Kisi is not long. Bada bada controversy hota hai (All Pakistan’s quick bowlers are excellent. I’m not picking anyone, I promise. It sparks a significant dispute). The second player will feel awful if I reveal their name. The third player will feel awful if I take the second player’s name. I believe they are all good.” The Indian captain said to reporters.

In order to lead India to ICC World Cup victory this year, the seasoned Indian captain is counting on local backing. When the Men in Blue last competed in the World Cup at home, India was declared world champions. Rohit was absent from the Indian team that won the illustrious title in 2011.
“Never have I seen it this close. In 2011, when we won, I wasn’t even on the squad. But even though it appears gorgeous, the trophy also has a lot of historical and past memories attached to it. Yes, it does look lovely, and fingers crossed we can raise it,” according to Rohit as reported by ICC. In the previous Asia Cup championship, the government has given Pakistan permission to visit India for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Prior to the World Cup, Pakistani authorities visited various World Cup locations to inspect the security measures in place for Babar’s team in India.
