Bangladesh suffered a great loss when he left because they were bowled out with only 171 runs in the first innings. The lone batter who stood out in the middle was Najmul Hossain Shanto, who scored 76 runs off 84 balls, including 10 fours. However, Adam Milne stood out for the Kiwis, taking 4 wickets and allowing just 34 runs in his 6.3 overs of bowling. Trent Boult and Cole McConchie both secured two wickets in addition to them.
