CM Punk is back in WWE after almost a decade. He made an appearance on WWE Survivor Series: WarGames in Chicago following the Men’s main event match between Team Cody Rhodes and The Judgement Day. Punk has been trending on social media since his WWE return and now some fans are also wondering if AJ Lee will follow in her husband’s footsteps and return to the company. Although a return cannot be ruled out, AJ’s history of neck injuries could potentially prevent her return to the promotion.
AJ is currently working as a producer
AJ’s contract with WOW-Women of Wrestling is going to expire this year, and she stated that she would be leaving WOW at the end of her season-long contract. Lee is currently working as an executive producer and color commentator for the promotion. It is possible that she could join CM Punk in WWE as a producer after her contract with the LA-based promotion ends. The pair was last seen together in the WWE ring almost a decade ago.
Lee was a top female star
AJ Lee had a very amazing career in WWE and she was one of the top female superstars in the company. During the Divas era, AJ held the title for 295 days before losing it to Paige on April 7, 2014, in an episode of WWE Raw. Her last match in the promotion was on Raw after WrestleMania 31, where she competed in a six-woman tag team match. Lee later retired from the active ring competition, citing cervical spine problems and the controversy surrounding her husband CM Punk leaving WWE as the reasons for her exit. AJ Lee and CM Punk got married in 2014 and have been living in Chicago since then. Both of them made several appearances together during their tenure at WWE.
