After withdrawing from UFC 303, Conor McGregor has taken a look. The Irishman was scheduled to make his highly anticipated return to the UFC octagon against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29 in Las Vegas. However, last week Dana White announced that McGregor had suffered an injury, due to which he was ruled out of UFC 303.
McGregor’s new look gets mixed reactions from fans
On Father’s Day, McGregor posted a photo of himself with one of his four children and captioned it: Happy Father’s Day World.” A notable thing that could be seen in the picture was that “The Notorious” had shaved off all his hair. Comments on his post varied, with users expressing surprise and humor. One user wrote, “Bald McGregor is back,” while another humorously wrote, “I’m convinced there’s at least 10 McGregor clones.”
Some comments linked his new look to past appearances and referenced McGregor’s bald look during his rematch with Dustin Poirier. Another commenter stated that he is getting hari change instead of fighting Chandler.
McGregor’s last appearances in the MMA Octagon were in 2021, when he suffered a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, followed by a broken leg a few months later in their trilogy fight. Despite his recent injury, renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani has indicated that Conor could be ready to return by August, with possible bouts in September or October if the UFC can organize an event.
McGregor will potentially return after two months
Helwani tweeted a new date for McGregor vs. Chandler. August or September have been discussed and that would likely mean creating a new PPV date. UFC President Dana White has remained quiet about McGregor’s return, suggesting that the fighter’s wealth may reduce his motivation to compete. However, McGregor has expressed disappointment at not being offered fights. Despite his injury, UFC 303 set a new record for gate revenue, highlighting Mystic Mac’s star power.
After McGregor pulled out, Alex Pereira stepped in on short notice to save the event. Now he will face Jiri Prochazka. Fans still wait for further updates, hoping McGregor will return to the Octagon soon.
