Social media influencer and boxer Jake Paul scored a TKO victory against former UFC fighter Mike Perry on Saturday. Perry, who now holds two losses in professional boxing, was knocked down in the first, second and sixth rounds. The first knockdown was a flash, but the others were much more brutal, which eventually led to the fight’s conclusion.
Paul praised his opponent after the fight
“The Problem Child” now boasts a 10-1 record in boxing with seven knockouts in his career. Jake praised Perry’s toughness after the fight and said, “He is a tough man. Respect to Mike Perry.” Paul admitted that he hit too hard, but his opponent took a lot of damage. Jake stated that he expected it but knocked Perry in the first round, which he survived. Now Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in his upcoming boxing bout, but he is also setting eyes on UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira, who has shown interest in boxing after receiving praise from Anthony Joshua.
Perry also showed sportsmanship and praised his opponent’s skill in hand-to-hand combat. Mike said that Jake did a great job and was a lot faster than him. “I tried, man, but the kid hit me hard. Good job, man. Congratulations.” The BKFC star also expressed a desire for a rematch, either in MMA or bare-knuckle combat.
The Notorious criticized The Problem Child
The former UFC champion, Conor McGregor, was quick to react to Perry’s loss and criticized Paul on social media. The Irishman highlighted the size difference and accused Paul of using performance-enhancing drugs. “The Notorious” stated that Jake is the biggest pissbag he has seen in his life and wrote that there was a 40-pound weight difference, but Paul was still shitting himself in there.
McGregor fires Perry from BKFC
In a follow-up tweet, McGregor claimed to have fired Mike Perry from BKFC, even though he is their biggest star. The Irishman wrote, “Hey Mike you are released and you can go and compete in your stinking dirty boxing championship thing, Good luck, you’re fired.” Meanwhile, following his win, Paul again called out the 58-year-old Mike Tyson, whom he is set to fight in November. The match will be live streamed on Netflix.
