WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes has been compared to a web series character for years now. The character in the talk is none other than Homelander from the series “The Boys,” which is played by Anthony Starr. The character shown in the series is shown to love humans, but in reality, he is a self-obsessed antihero. Homelander has blonde hair and wears a blue attire; he looks a little similar to Cody Rhodes, who enters the ring in his robe. Interestingly, there have been a number of times when “The American Nightmare” was booed in AEW, but he never stopped being a babyface with a smile. This has made Cody seen as the Homelander of the wrestling world.
Cody loves the show and Homelander
Recently, in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cody addressed those comparisons. During the conversation, Cody Rhodes reveals that he has great love for the show and Anthony’s performance as Homelander. He praised the entire cast, calling it first-class. Cody further stated that his robe is not based on it, as it has a little bit more of scales and gold with eagles. It is actually based on military dress uniforms.
“I think the AEW run where people thought I’m pretending to be a good guy but I’m actually a bad guy, which maybe is what was happening? I think that’s where it really became ‘Is he gonna go full Homelander? Truthfully, the character Homelander is a terrible human being,” said Rhodes.
Fans want a heel turn for Cody
For many years, wrestling fans have been insisting for a heel turn for Cody Rhodes. Since he has always been a babyface, his turn will definitely bring more excitement. During chat with Chris Van, Cody read a tweet his sister found that said, “Asking Cody Rhodes to turn heel is like asking Taylor Swift to only do club gigs.”

A heel turn for Cody would definitely be shocking and fun at the same time, but it makes no sense because he is one of the biggest naturally born babyfaces in WWE. Currently, “The American Nightmare” is the number one babyface in WWE. But Cody does have fun with the comparisons drawn with Homelander. In a commercial shared on social media to promote The Boys, a shot of Cody was shown from behind, as if he were Homelander, then he turns to the camera and says, “So Homelander, what do you wanna talk about?” Then his face turns angry and he shoots red lasers from his eyes.
