At stake against Czechia, a trip to November’s Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna, Italy where the final knockout portion of the competition will commence.A post shared by USTA (@usta)Bryan, in his third year at the helm, will have his options among the singles and doubles combinations—and the ability to add a fifth roster member if so desired. The Czechs are fully capable of delivering on hard courts with Miami Open champion Jakub Mensik, Tomas Machac and Jiri Lehecka leading their charge.Tennis Channel will air live coverage of the two-day tie. The first of back-to-back singles matches kicks off action beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 12, with a doubles rubber and two more singles matches—if necessary—to follow Saturday, September 13. The first country to reach three points advances.Fritz and Paul are the most experienced of the U.S. quartet, having each suited up for 10 ties. Tiafoe was the first to debut back in 2018, while Shelton is due to make his second appearance. After punching a ticket to 2024’s Final 8, the U.S. was eliminated by Australia in a deciding doubles rubber.Italy earned an automatic spot to the Davis Cup Final 8 after successfully defending its crown last year in Malaga, Spain.
