CM Punk made a surprising return to WWE last year at Survivor Series WarGames. It was definitely the most shocking and unexpected return in WWE history. Fans also called it the best secret kept by the company. The Chicago native’s return to WWE was shocking because he and WWE ended their relationship on a bad note. In fact, in an interview at that time, CM Punk boldly stated that he would never work with the Stamford-based promotion again. Punk had a beef with the former chairman of WWE Vince McMahon.
Punk described his experience with Vince and Triple H
Vince McMahon sold WWE last year and also left the post of chairman in 2024. He does not have any connection with the company now. Triple H is the CEO of WWE now under the leadership of TKO Group and has full control over the creative. Recently, CM Punk appeared on the SI Media podcast, where he discussed several topics like his WWE and AEW runs and more. During the conversation, the “Cookie Master” was asked about his work experience under Vince McMahon and Triple H.
Punk clearly expressed his dissatisfaction about working under Vince McMahon and stated that the former chairman used to make people wait outside his office. “There would be like a line, and people would be intimidated by it, and I don’t get that read from Triple H at all,” said Punk.
CM Punk later spoke about his experience working under Triple H and stated that he never had that kind of experience with Vince. Punk said that he always asks him a question if he needs to and never wastes his time. According to CM Punk, Triple H is more hands-on, friendly and approachable with people.
Second City Saint is set to take on McIntyre at SummerSlam
Punk got injured at Royal Rumble 2024 and now that he is finally cleared, he is set to face Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2024 this weekend at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The clash is highly anticipated, as their rivalry began at WrestleMania 40, where Punk attacked the Scottish Warrior after he won the WWE World Championship. McIntyre lost the title the same night as when he was down because of Punk’s attack, Damian Priest came and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to capture the title.
The rivalry ignited further when CM Punk cost the Scottish Warrior his championship again at the Clash at the Castle. The storyline between them has been quite intense so far and they will finally get to take on each other and complete their revenge.
