CM Punk stunned everyone last year with his return to WWE after nine years. He appeared on the Survivor Series and everyone was looking forward to his potential clash against Seth Rollins, as the then-World Heavyweight Champion didn’t shy away from sharing his real-life enmity with Punk. A clash at WrestleMania 40 looked confirmed, but then some unexpected things happened as Punk got injured at the Royal Rumble, which resulted in the tearing of his triceps after taking a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre. However, this pushed The Scottish Warrior as a heel and set a storyline for the two.
Punk looks in good shape
Recently CM shared a photo on Instagram showing he’ll be back in action soon. The “Cookie Master” has always had a lean body, but now he is focusing more on bulking up as evident in his recent photo. Punk shared a workout selfie in which he was flexing his muscles. He looks in good shape and has been working on his arms. In the photo, he is wearing a Jade Cargill shirt.
He wrote in the caption, “Just trying to be as jacked as the lady on my shirt, @jadecargill (would settle to be as half as jacked as my wife @theajmendez). Looking good Billy Ray, feeling good Louis.”
McIntyre vs Punk could happen at SummerSlam
It looks like WWE Universe will get to see CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam in August. Damin Priest cashed his Money in the Bank briefcase on McIntyre at WrestleMania 40, but he could be in a mix for a much bigger storyline. The Clash at the Castle is taking place in McIntyre’s home country, Scotland, this weekend, so we can assume that he is going to get his title back.

After this, there will still be two months of preparation for McIntyre vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam. The only thing fans are wondering is if WWE will give Punk the title right away or if they will let the storyline play out over months while making sure that Punk’s body can withstand the rigors of wrestling. However, CM Punk’s recent Instagram post is an indication that he could be back in action any day.
