UFC fighter Michael Chandler has recently reacted to Dana White’s recent comments on the highly anticipated Conor McGregor fight. The UFC CEO denied the possibility of the clash between McGregor and Chandler taking place in 2024. However, “Iron” claimed that Dana is spreading misinformation.
Chandler claims White is misinforming the fans
Recently, in an interview with TMZ Sports, Chandler said that he thinks White’s denial of the fight is a marketing strategy. While sharing his experiences with the promotion, Chandler said that White is giving the wrong information to the fans and claimed that he will fight the Irishman before the end of 2024.
During the Dana White Contender Series post-fight press conference, the UFC CEO clearly said that Conor McGregor will not fight this year. This statement left fans with disappointment. After which Chandler stated, “As much as we love him, he has also said some things that were just absolutely false.”
Iron is optimistic about the fight to take place in 2024
Michael Chandler claimed that his fight against “The Notorious” is closer than fans think. “His job is also, sometimes, to give you misinformation,” said Chandler about White. He believes that White’s denial about the matchup could possibly mean it will take place at the end of the year. “Iron” then narrated about the cancelled UFC 303 fight.
The former Bellator champion was scheduled to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 303 on June 29. However, he claimed that despite knowing the confirmation of the date, Dana White denied this confirmed match in several public appearances. Chandler further again reassured that the fight will take place in 2024. Despite two years of uncertainty, Chandler is still optimistic about his fight against the “Mystic Mac.”

After McGregor demanded a fight at the end of the year, Michael Chandler took X and wrote, “December it is.” During the interview with TMZ Sports, Chandler seemed optimistic for a potential fight this year and said he has been ready for it ever since the UFC 303 match was cancelled. However, Michael Chandler also claimed that if the match against McGregor doesn’t come to fruition, he will move on from the fight and will accept new fight challenges. It seems he hasn’t received the confirmation for the fight to take place by the end of 2024.
